I am always trying to find out what new bells and whistles are on the web as it relates to job search. This task can sometimes feel overwhelming. So, I ask you…what’s working for you? Any new websites or apps that I should know about? What is working? What’s not? Are you actually finding a job using social media?

I am finding social media is not helping in the job search at all. Beginning to think it is a waste of time. The most success in the last 6 months have been through former employees who put my name in for positions which suit my profile or recruiters whom I have dealt with in the past.
It would be more accurate to state that recruiters and references from former employees to their current employers are the ONLY responses that have come my way.
Using that metric, Jobs posted on LinkedIn, Monster, etc. are useless. Social Media contacts whom do not know you personally are of little or no worth.
In my humble opinion, it will be another five years before the BASH Reaction of Social Media begins to become professional enough to be useful.
