This morning I received 10 resumes. 8 out of the 10 had either typos or mistakes (the use of Meeting Planners International instead of Meeting Professionals International). Many think that these typos are minor and in the big picture, don’t matter. Don’t fool yourself…we are in a “detail oriented” business. Hiring officials will notice and not consider you with mistakes like this.
What to do? Don’t rely on spell check. Have two or three people look at your resume for typos and mistakes. Consider hiring a free lance professional proof reader….
